Didn't think such people existed

So I'm shopping at the Identity store in the mall, no problems, until I go to the counter to pay. All is well, I hand my Identity card to put my purchase on account, until this rude man jumps in and checks the card. Now the card is in my husband's name, which I understand he needs to sign for so I understand them saying I can't put it on the account. I drop it. So I said okay, here's the cheque card, also my husband's but I can co-sign on this account so there isn't a problem with me using it. And off goes this guy saying I can't use this card because it's my husband's. No matter how I tried to explain the concept of co signing the more this guy refused. So after 5 minutes I said, phone the bank, to which this lazy decided to refuse as well. So now I'm standing there at a complete loss, because not only does he not know what CO-SIGNATURE RIGHTS means, but absolutely REFUSING to phone the bank is absolutely unacceptable! Costing me to walk all the way to the bank to draw a of money to which my banking costs will be a whole! @#$%& lot, where the solution was as easy as picking up the phone. Never have I ever dealt with such an inconsiderate person.
