Bad credit on new account

I applied for credit at Edgars Woodlands Pretoria. As it is my first account ever, they came back only giving me R600.00 credit available.

I have been shopping with Edgars all my life and have to build a credit record, so i decided to have them as my first and that is all i get? What can you buy for that?

Even all the staff at this particular branch were surprised to see what my credit limit was based on my salary after having no obligations to my name. Thumbs up to Tumi at Woodlands who was very helpful. After an hour struggling to get hold of Edcon accounts department. All i wanted was an explanation to why my credit is so low and absolutely no one could tell me...

I am very disappointed and will terminate my account and support with Edgars!
