Eing charged for factory fault

A friend bought a GUESS watch for R1100 on the 31st Jan 2013 as a birthday present, I was pregnant at the time, I went on martenity leave on the 1st April which means I had no reason to wear the watch at home, I came back at work on the 1st Aug 2013 and took the watch back to Edgars store in Menlyn where the watch was bought and Gladys Mtsweni who is a manager in that department called me to say was going to send the watch back to GUESS but they going to charge me, I told her I'm not got to pay for their factory fault because the machine is still new with no scratches besides the strap which is worn out and she called me today (Gladys Mtsweni) to say the watch has been repaired and I was charged R350 to repair the strap and the manger at GUESS said he is not going to talk to me if I have any complaints I must talk to Edgars
