I attended on your Walmer Park Edgars Branch to open an account (6 months interest free).

I specifically asked what the terms were, made sure it was 6 months interest free and that there were NO other charges on the account. She confirmed that for every R1000 there was a 33.00 cents charge for account cover. On collection of my card I get given the "contract" with a clause stating that I am liable for R26 - R50 per month! I was not informed of that after expressly asking about this. I was then told that I only have to pay the charge if I signed up for the funeral cover which i expressly DID NOT only to be told when being issued with my card that I had opened my account with account and funeral cover. I asked if that was an extra charge and was told yes!!! I will be reporting this behaviour to the National Credit Regulator as being an underhanded attempt at obtaining a few extra bucks from unwitting consumers.
