Imaginary TV in Newslette

Shops, Products, Services

TAKEALOT advertised an LG 32" HD TV in a newsletter for one of their daily deals on 21/10/2013, though upon clicking the link there is no such TV special available. Not surprisingly, all the other deals advertised are displayed on the page.

Here is the link to the HTML version of the email:

On phoning customer support, we were told that they had run out of stock. But this would result in the TV special being displayed at the bottom of the page, with the rest of the expired/sold out deals for the day. It is not. The actual television on their site, without the special, is also still available for the original price.

TAKEALOT falsely advertised a television, and then about their mistake. Their newsletters are a to get people to click through, only to find what they've clicked on isn't what they get. It's no wonder the falsely advertised product was the first product in the list, right at the top of the email.

I'd have expected better from TAKEALOT. They've lost a customer for life.
