Worst rewards system ever!!

On 24 September I bought make-up from Edgars in Ballito. My U-rewards at the bottom of the till slip was well over R100. 17 October I wanted to buy a pair of shoes from Jet in Galleria using my U-reward points. But I was informed that I had ZERO points!!! HOW is this possible? The guy form Jet tried to phone and find out. He had to phone 5 different people and I had to go home without an answer and NO shoes. How is it possible that one day you have more than R100 to spend and the next time nothing? I have never used the points! Surely they should be able to see that on my statement? Pathetic to say the least! Thank goodness we closed out Edgars account long time ago.
