Invalid claims

I went to dis-chem in brooklyn mall to buy some medication and they told me that my medical aid savings have been used out and i had to take back the medication, to my surprise the following day i received a claim acknowledgement from medscheme saying that a claim of R101.71 from brooklyn dis-chem pharmacy has been received and they are busy processing it. i do not understand why/how can they submit a claim when they told me my savings are used out and they didn't even give me that medication.
