My husband recieved a Truworths Hemisphere T-shirt as a gift. While he liked the T-shirt he wanted to change the colour. He went into the Fourways branch with the t-shirt to do the swop. It had not been worn and still had its labels in tact however, as it was a gift he did not have the purchase slip and the person that brought the gift had gone back to Australia.
The store refused to make the exchange even though they acknowledge that the shirt was current merchandise and that Hemisphere is their brand so it must have been purchased at one of their stores. The manger was non-negotiable stating that without the slip she would not assist him. I then called the call centre to register a complaint (ref number 11234) as was assured that someone would revert to me by the end of the day or by the next day at the latest. Now 4 days later we have not had the courtesy of a call from their complaints department.
This is a shocking policy and is certainly not the case with other retailers. We now sit with a brand new garment that will not be worn and a very dim view of a store that we have supported faithfully for many years. Other Truworths customers please beware.
