My aged, ill, illiterate domestic worker (she can't even tell the time) bought two appliances for Joshua Doore Krugersdorp for the price of R8682. The final contract price after 24 months (with all the padding they could add) was R19, 929. On phoning to query the apparently exorbitant contract, and the questionable circumstances under which it could have been transacted, and to negotiate a settlement, I unfortunately encountered the terse, arrogant, unhelpful financial manager Magda Smit. Does her response mirror the ethos of the company and is her aggression a daily norm? Was the domestic's fingerprint (signature) on the contract carte blanche for the perceived exploitation of her illiteracy? Where to Joshua?
