Delivery guy has a bad attitude

My item got delivered yesterday while I was at work but instead of contacting me to say that they are on their way, the driver pitches up at my house demanding that I come immediately and that he cannot wait.
This is unacceptable as I do not work near home and I cannot be there immediately. I had to drop all tasks and rush home as he said that he could not wait for me.
Why couldn't anyone call to state that they are on their way so that I can make prior arrangements.
Further to this, he calls me and the call gets cut because he ran out of airtime which means that I must phone him back, this is really unprofessional, as a delivery guy, he shouldn't make me pay for the call.
Either he needs to be replaced or get a warning as this is unacceptable and portrays a bad image on house and home.
