Faulty Goods & Unacceptable Customer Service

I bought a heater from Fair Price Furniture & Appliances in Johannesburg Jeppe.
The sales Lady (Phagama) told me that the heater came with a 1 year guarantee.
The heater packed up after 1 week of purchase.
I then returned it to the store for an exchange or refund.
I was told that there is nothing that the store could do, as they did not have stock of the heater.
I feel that this store is misleading the public into purchasing goods and their customer service is very poor.
