Settling the washing machine and cancel insurance

My mom went to buy a washing machine that worth R1499.99 it was in June, I ask her how much is it gonna be in total after 24 months she said its R5000, I realised that a lot of money so I asked her to go to the store and I asked them how much is going to be when I settle/ pay off the machine, she said the credit manager told her its going to R2800, this amount its like paying for 2 washing machine, this is reap off.

First of all you buy something for R1500, repayment is R5000 come on guys this is triple the interest.

They have told her to take the insurance, to me its so unnecessary which I told her to cancel it because it also states that you can cancel within 30 days, they refused to cancel that insurance for her.
I think every one has a right to cancel something even LIFE POLICIES we can cancel it.
