Goods not working

I bought a chainsaw from checkers, which i assembled and tried to use with no success, I took it back to Checkers the next day and the Manager arranged for the Manufacturer to check it out and assemble it. they did and assured me that everything was working perfectly and they had in fact tested it. I collected and tested it myself, the chain was not even moving. Now they say I require a new chain. How is it that they tested it and i was working and I go back and test it and the chain doesnt move?
