Don't Judge The Customer By Looks/ Race, etc

Shops, Products, Services

Hi,
This is not a formal complaint as such, just something "to note".
I visited the Pavilion yesterday (07.07) late afternoon - just a btw stop. I happened to go into the store.
I had found a Whitney Houston CD but it didn't have a price tag on it - I approached a female Indian staff member who was on the floor - she had no name tag - she wore a black t-shirt with jeans - healthy in size.
I asked her if she could please check the price for me - she looked at it & said "no" - fine good joke - mind you I'm the potential customer in the store.
Anyway she gets back to me a few mins later - she approaches me & tells me "U're not going to take it" - I looked at her a little strange coz I was confused by her response. She says its "R179".
What I want to know was I judged by the either by the way I looked or was it coz I'm Indian?
Does staff normally decide if the customer can afford it or not or do u think it should be up 2 the customer?
Is there a sign outside the shop to say Musica shoppers need to look in a certain way, be a certain race or earn a certain amount of money? If so - I missed it - please place this sign closer to the entrance.
I wanted to make you aware of my experience.
