When I went to pay for my goods in the children's department there were about 4 customers ahead of me in the queue. There were 4 staff around the tills, yet only 2 tills were open. Gloria seemed to be in charge, and when another customer asked her if she'd open another till she said she couldn't. The service was extremely slow with each customer taking a log time to complete their transaction. While I was in the queue I watched these four staff laughing and joking, with Gloria also taking a call on her cell phone. I appreciate that maybe 'the system' was slow, but it was pretty galling to be kept waiting while the staff apparently had a social at our expense. I certainly wasn't the only one in the queue who found the wait unreasonable. When I eventually reached the front, Gloria served me. She greeted me, and when she asked how I was I politely and calmly said unimpressed with the wait. She barely acknowledged my comment, and I said that I wouldn't be shopping at the store again. She almost sniggered as she commented that they's lost a customer. There was no apology or even acknowledgement that we had been kept waiting a ridiculous amount of time. Very disappointing!
