Delivery booking paid, no goods delivered

I bought a tumble dryer on Sunday morning, and paid for delivery. The sales person asked when I would like to take delivery, and upon my answer of as soon as possible, I was informed that they will then deliver today. I took a half-day from work, waiting for delivery. At 18:36 today I was informed that the driver has said that he will not make delivery today. It seems like there is a huge communication gap between sales and dispatch, and maybe sales persons should ensure that when they tell a customer that delivery will be at a certain time, it should actually happen. Maybe Game would rather invest in software to ensure that a customer has the choice to see the delivery being confirmed and booked, and then be ensured that the time-slot chosen, will be adhered to. But then again, Game is in it for the money, who cares about the customer after all, we just need to stuff the pockets of the big wigs. After all, it's not like they need the public's support to make money. Oh wait, they actually do need the public's support to make money. Time to supply better service perhaps?
