3 Month old shoes tearing on Side of Shoes

I have purchased a pair of shoes form LacosteLevisons in Durban. Within 3 months the shoes has tore on the sides. I have sent it in and asked for a new pair as obviously this pair is defective. The guy is extremely rude and all he can say is theres nothing they can do. I feel this is utterly in appropiate as the shoe is only 3 months old and cost a fortune.
Tired of being robbed and disgusted with the pathatic service of this store and think the store will damage the brand.
