Spending an hour trying to pay for jeans

At Edgars Canal Walk we found a pair of Levi's. Upon scanning, the barcode "didn't work" and it couldn't be entered manually. Cashier went to find another pair, after being explained to that these were the last ones on the shelf. We waited 20 MINUTES. Eventually just paid the rest of the stuff. Didn't get a slip, got sent to Customer Services for a reprint. Another 15 minutes, they can't reprint. Got the jeans back along the way with a hand-written code on the label, which still didn't work "in the system". Called manager, no answer for 3 minutes, eventually got to Cosmetics Manager who actually was very helpful and organized us a small discount for our trouble. She sorted out the problem, we paid for the jeans and left, but when we got home, we noticed that it was the wrong pair of jeans - somehow the original cashier left the right pair somewhere and brought a different pair back when looking for the code. Now I have to travel all the way back to an Edgars branch and hope that I can find the right pair there. This is really pathetic. Clearly some of the cashier staff are not adequately prepared for their work, or they just don't care enough to pay attention to what they're doing.
