Trying to sort out my mothers account!

My mother was placed under debt review in 2009. She has been paying off her Edgars account since then. NPDA says this account has been paid off but not Edcon!! She has been receiving harassing phone calls and sms's. The matter has since been handed over to the lawyers. I have seen the proofs of payments she has made and when I add them up, she has in fact paid more than the original debt amount. We have asked Edcon for proof that the account has not been paid as they won't accept our proof of payment. Their response is simply that there is an outstanding balance on the account which is now almost as much as the original debt amount again! I don't know what to do! Nobody seems to be able to help. Does Edcon enjoy harassing old ladies? I closed my Edgars account some years ago and swore I would never open another one because of the way the treat their clients!!!
