I went to the store on Monday night to buy a pair of shoes for my wife. I swipe my card and I get a SMS to say the funds have been deducted as per normal. As I get the SMS their system times out. They now insist I have to pay and swipe my card again. After arguing the funds did not go through I left the shop without shoes and without my money. They insist the funds will be returned to me. 2 says later I phone FNB and they say the funds have been deducted and will be paid into Call it spring's account when they bank. Only they can release the funds.

1- They insist they do not have the money
2- They insist the problem is with FNB, their card machine is in their store and it is because it switched off that we have the problem
3- They have the funds and the shoes
4- Managers and staff who are incompetent
5- Passing the buck
