"Leather" Lounge Suite

I bought a Hilary Leather Lounge Suite in about 2005 for R15000 - a lot of money on the day! Recently, the "leather" has begun flaking off in certain places - showing fabric underneath. Does this mean that it's not a genuine leather suite? Has Rochester misrepresented it's quality offering?
I went to the recently relocated store in Northgate, to be fobbed off by the manager, who indicated that I was lucky that it had lasted 8 years. "It's an imported suite, there are many different types of leather, etc, etc." I contacted head office - 3 times - before I got to speak to somebody. Was asked to send an email, which I've sent twice, addressed to their "Suggestions" department, as well as to their General Manager. Still waiting for an answer. Shame on you, Rochester, firstly for your misrepresentation, secondly for your lack of interest. Yvonne Foley.
