In January 2010 we purchased a lounge suite from Geen & Richards. We were informed by the salesperson that the lounge suite was a LEATHER lounge suite. However in July this year we noticed that the leather was showing signs of peeling. I found this to be strange as leather does not peel. we called the company and complained. The salesman Mr Omar said he would get back to us. however after several attempts we were unsuccessful in getting any favourable response. They claim that the guarantee period was over after a year. We were sold a leather lounge suite which turned out to be synthetic leather. it would have been impossible for us to discover that it was not genuine leather in a period of 1 year. The salesman Mr Omar confirmed about 4 weeks ago in the presence of witnesses that indeed it was sold as a leather lounge suite. We were misled and misinformed in believing that it was a genuine leather product. We were told that it was marked down from R24000 to R16000 even the price suggests that we were conned by a so called reputable company.
