FALSE ADVERTISING ON WEBSITE

Shops, Products, Services

On 10 June I received a promotional email from Kalahari, advertising "Great savings on Cool stuff". One of the items on the email was buying the book Inferno by Dan Brown and getting Politically Incorrect free. I followed the link to the website on 11 June and the page indicated that the special offer price was R209 for both books. I then placed the items in my basket, used a voucher I had available and paid for the books.

I received the books the same day, which was great, but on inspecting the invoice that was included in the package later the evening, I noticed that I was charged R270 (less the R16.71 voucher) for the books, and not R209 as advertised.

This is blatant false advertising.

I am in the process of attempting to return the purchased goods, but now have to pay R55 shipping and handling fee, which will effectively put in in a worse off position than if the correct price of R209 was just charged on my invoice.

I am very unhappy about this.
