Last year I had settled my JET acc. and requested to close the acc. at a branch in Cape Town. The JET representative assured me the request to close the acc. had been successful and the acc. was closed. I then found out after I had received another statement from JET that the acc. was not closed. I called the acc. department from a JET store and spoke to an Edcon representative on the phone who confirmed that my acc. had been closed. Recently I have received numerous calls from Edcon requesting to reconfirm my personal details for my JET acc. even though I had been advised and have also advised your consultants that my acc. is closed. Yesterday I received my credit report and noticed that the JET acc. was still active. Today I called the acc department who advised me that the acc. is still active and has a 0 balance. When I asked her why it had not been closed she simply said "I don't know why they didn't close it, but you spoke with someone in Cape Town". I was also advised that I would receive an email confirming the acc closure within 2 days. This is not acceptable.
I find the non-compliance of such a large company extremely unprofessional, inconsiderate and unethical.
