Overcharged Again

I was overcharged again at the Stellenbosch Spar (Helshoogte Rd) yesterday. They advertised washing powder on a special for R45.99, but charged me R54.99 at the till. Luckily I noticed this at the till, and they had to void and amend the price. But how many people did they trick before (and after) me? I had the same experience a few weeks ago with Steri Stumpi's and Spar brand milk which was apparently on a special. Again, the price did not reflect correctly at the till. These are items which i would not have bought ordinarily.

I dont see why it is the customers responsibility to check that the price is correct. It is an inconvenience to the customer and totally unethical to overcharge customers at the till - who often do not check the prices as they trust that they wont be swindled out of their hard earned cash.

Furthermore, i read the article in last week's paper - which raised this very issue re. Spar; yet they are STILL overcharging customers. What is Spar planning on doing about this??
