12 minutes to issue a Raincheck voucher?

I went to the Game Galleria store to purchase an advertised item. They did not have stock so I elected to ask for raincheck vouchers. I was attended to by 2 people in Customer Services, both of whom seemed very confused with the procedure. It took about 8 minutes just to locate the barcode of the item, even though they were shown it advertised in a pamphlet and more time to locate it on their system. Then another member of staff arrived at the counter and insisted that they had stock. I then asked if there was no system software that updated stock so there was unmitigated confusion. An explanation was offered around stock takes etc that I didn't quite follow.
Should this not be a routine procedure which should take no more than 3 minutes at maximum if there are no queues? (there were none).
