Me and my wife took out a lay-buy a few months back (Baby Goods) at the Garden Route Mall in George. Now we got married last week and completely forgot about this lay-buy. However my Wife went to the shop and asked for an extension (30 days) just to give us time to get our finances in order. The lady at the till called the manager to assist. Now this lady (The Manager) thought that it would be good to school my wife (who is not a kid), going on and on about auditors and even asked why she didn't pay the lay-buy. My wife eventually asked for her money back and left the store. I also work within the public facing sector for Vodacorp and know that customer care and the way how you address customers should be with respect and not degrading (this is how my wife felt). We always buy from this store, but I can assure you, we will be cancelling our accounts at ackermans in due course of the week. As a loyal customer of Ackermans, I feel utterly disappointed that someone can do this, especially if you are at a managing position. My wife loved this store (baby clothes), but after seeing her all in tears, I can assure you that I will not be sending her to this shop again.
