I made a purchase at St Johns Checkers Pinetown on the 11 May 2013. While ringing up my goods the teller asked if I wanted plastic packets for the 3 cool drinks that I was purchasing, I said no and that they can be placed loose in the the trolley with the rest of the my purchase. The checkers's packer pack my goods into packets and then packed them into another trolley. After I paid for the goods I left the till point with the trolley containing the the goods I had purchased. When I arrived home I noticed that I did not have my 3 cool drinks. I phoned the store to discuss the issues. I was informed by the store manager that it was not there responsibility that the the packer (checkers staff member) did not put the items in the trolley as it was my responsibility to make sure that it was done and if they were not handed in to the consumer desk there is nothing that they can do as it is not their responsibility. Checkers should take responsibility for when their staff make mistakes causing customers to not get what they have paid for. If you supply a service you must take responsibility that the services is carried out correctly and effectively.
