Bad service with broken item

I bought a game disc from CNA in Somerset West Mall on Friday, 03/05/2013. On Sunday night, the game disc snapped when I placed it back in it's case. When I went to see CNA on Tuesday, 07/05/2013, the woman behind the counter phoned her manager and told me that I must phone EA support for a reference number and bring that back to CNA before I can get my disc replaced.
Only when I actually dialed the number did I realise I was phoning an office in Ireland (!) - which is going to cost a small fortune! The helpful man who assisted me said that it was highly unusual for the customer to be doing the calling, as this is usually carried out by the retailer!
When I confronted the shop assistant at CNA about this, she flat out ignored me & just pointed to the stand to indicate that I should fetch another disc off the shelf!
I am horrified by the lack of interest in customer service and the bad attitudes by the staff at CNA in the Somerset West Mall and sincerely hope that they do something about it.
