On 20 April 2013, my wife, 2 year old daughter and myself got stuck in the Edgars Sandton elevator. The intercom in the elevator was not working so we screamed for help and even banged on the doors. We were eventually acknowledged after 25 minutes of absolute nothingness. Eventually someone said that help is on the way and asked if there were children inside to which we replied yes. After a very unnerving total time of 1, 5hours, amplified by the fact that we had a 2 year old child with us, the doors were eventually opened to gawking customers and staff. We were then told to wait for the Store manager who sauntered over, apologised, took details and we left. To date, we have not received a phone call, text, mail or anything to find out if we were fine or apologise or even offer trauma counselling for the child at least. I think that this is a putrid display of probably the flagship store in Edgars and one tenders to wonder what type of customer etiquette the Edcon group practices. I hope that no one ever goes through that experience but the parting shot would be that if yopu shop at Edgars Sandton, dont expect any facet of accpetable service or compassion, if you do, disappointment awaits
