Account debited twice

On the 31/12/2012 i bought clothes at totalsports Jubilee mall for the value of approximately R705. There was a problem with their system and i was moved from one computer to the other. I signed one slip and left. When i got my statement during January, i realised that the money i owed doubled and when i asked for clarification at a branch in Johannesburg, i was told that i had purchased for R1400 at Jubilee mall. I went to Jubilee Mall and the lady tried to help me by checking the transactions from the 31.12.2013. She realised that there was an amount that was voided but it still appeared on my statement. She tried calling their head office to rectify the matter but was told that i should go to the police and make an affidavit that i had purchased goods for R700 and so forth. Now, i work monday to saturday, i dont have the time to go to the police station and make affidavit for something that is not even my mistake. I want my account to be rectified, all the interest charged to be reversed. I cant be sent from pillar to post for something that is not even my mistake.
