Wonderchef Cooker lid giving off a plastic taste

The Wonderchef cooker that we purchased in December 2012 came with a plastic lid which gives off a bad taste to the food that is cooked in it.

We have been back to the Homemark stall in GAME in the Mall@Carnival, Brakpan but to no avail.
The shop assistant took down our details but never bothered to contact us again. We then noticed that the lid was replaced with a glass lid, obviously indicating a problem with the plastic lid.

After numerous attempts to have the lid replaced we are still stuck with a product that we paid R800 for and cannot use.
