Beware when ADT quotes you prices

I've phoned the ADT call centre last week to enquire about the keysafes that their armed response recommended to us due to the difficulty getting in to the premises.

The person at the call centre informed me that the keysafe is R689, which I accepted and instructed her to make a booking for the installation.

HOWEVER when the technician came to install the unit, (and completed the installation) there was an extra R432 all of a sudden payable. I queried this amount and the technician said that I don't need to sign and bolted. Apparently this is for the call out fee.

I wrote an email to ADT upon which a lady from the technical department informed me that the price is correct as given by the technician.

I informed her that this is misrepresentation and that they must come and remove the unit if the cost is not R689, since I am not prepared to pay R1281 for a keysafe.

CONCLUSION - They will come and remove the keysafe, and leave me with the holes drilled to fix.

CONSUMERS BEWARE WHEN ADT QUOTE PRICES. THERE IS HIDDEN COSTS!
