In August 2012 ADT installed a new security system in my house. December 2012 the system started malfunctioning by going off on its own. The system did this day after day but I could not figure out why. I then called ADT and a technician was sent in and he reprogrammed the system.

The technician then gave me a form to sign which said I was liable for the cost of the service call even though the system was under warranty. I refused to sign the form telling him that the system was new and still under warranty for a year. I even wrote this on the form.

In the coming months agent after agent would call me saying that my account was in arrears for this service call and I would tell them the same thing each time, that the system was under warranty. They would then tell me that their managers would be informed.

On 20th August 2013 I got an SMS from ADT saying that they intend to debit my account for the amount regarding the service call. How ridiculous is this?

I've been paying my monthly fees on time and now they want to take additional funds from my account without authorisation for their system, that they installed, was faulty, and was under warranty?

How crazy are these people?
