Account sent on MMS with incorrect customer numbe

I pay my account annually. I switched from debit order to me paying the account as every year I got cut off even though Multichoice put through the debit order. The payment is due by 28 Jan and Multichoice sent me a MMS statement. I went to pay at Pick 'n Pay and the account number on the MMS was not valid. It turns out that the account number on the MMS is not mine, so I would be paying some one else's account.
Can you believe I was sent account with my name and someone else's account number. The call centre agent blames this on me as the e-mail address they have is old, even though they sent me a statement to my valid e-mail after they cut me off (after collecting my money) last year. So they also did not update my details when they got them.
Further the call centre agent continues to tell me that I should use debit order to prevent problems - the inefficiency of that is what made me cancel my debit order.
If DSTV was not a monopoly would they have any customers as their systems are shocking. How can a successful company consistently have such poor systems and customer service.
