Pretoria Zoo/ National Zoo
An abomination as a tourist attraction

Was nice to be out in the fresh air yesterday but was extremely disappointed with the Pretoria Zoo in general. We had to pay R20 to park across the road in a parking that is falling apart and damaged with bricks and sand mounts everywhere. Then there is no safe zebra crossing for family with children to cross then road.

There was litter and cans in the water with the crocodiles that was rusted and clearly hadn't been cleaned in ages (what a terrible message to be sending the kids of this country, can't even protect animals in captivity!).

Half the enclosures were empty, they didn't even have lions!!

The signs have been scratched, damaged or missing so you can't find your way.

And when we got back to our car in the sand yard we had to PAY to park in there wasn't one single car guard watching over our cars!? Are they legally collecting that money to park there- does it go toward the zoo?

Saddens me that that is a tourist attraction yet such an abomination!
