Account still registered to man dead for 13 years!

Recreation & Entertainment

Mrs J G Russell, the widow of Peter Russell, who died in November 2000, has repeatedly tried to get the DSTV account registered in HER name and with HER ID Number (she pays the account!). Every time she has occasion to contact DSTV, they ask for her ID number to identify her, they then refuse to accept her ID number, but when she gives her dead husband's ID number, they can open the account. She has written, telephoned and faxed proof of her husband's death, a copy of his death certificate, and a copy of her marriage certificate to both the Port Elizabeth call centre and the Johannesburg head office, all to no avail. Today we tried to change her choice of package by telephone to the Port Elizabeth call centre and, despite all the previous correspondence and faxes, etc, the account is STILL in her dead husband's name, and require's HIS ID number to access it. How long can this go on???
