X-factor Artist Management
Dicriminatory Comments

Recreation & Entertainment

A talent agent by the name of Shane from X-Factor (Talent and Artist Agents) in Johannesburg this morning told my brother when he called in; to find out whether he got his pictures, as he will like to join their agency that.., "He has a difficult face as he is half Black, half Indian and doesn't know what to do with him. Isn't that a discriminatory comment? I then decided to call him and understand what he meant.

He was very rude and told me that he had already spoken to my brother. I then explained that I'm aware but just needed to understand what he meant. He repeated the same statement and when I asked him whether he didn't think what he was saying was wrong, because his statement is based on that my brother is half this and that? He then asked me, what did I want him to say as that was the truth and that, he didn't have time for my questions. And he hung up!!

I think his comments are discriminatory especially coming from someone who works with people on a daily basis. If you are a talent agent and you are not interested in someone, just say so, don't make comments like that.
