Pam Golding Properties
Rental Agreement / Struggling to get deposit back

We've signed a rental agreement with Pam Golding Properties in March 2010.The contract which we've signed was in the name of Pam Golding Properties and the deposit of R8000 which we paid was also deposited into Pam Golding's bank account. Nowhere in the contract was it stipulated that we are not dealing with Pam Golding directly but that we are dealing with a Franchise, trading as Pam Golding Properties.
After we've moved out, we started to inquire regarding our deposit. We were told that we signed a contract with a Pam Golding sub contractor, but the sub contractor was under investigation for misusing trust Fund money and that our deposit was deposited in this trust fund. They advised us to speak to the EAAB and claim from the fidelity Fund. After submitting all the documents to the EAAB one of the other clients of Pam Golding submitted a liquidation request for the sub contractor to be liquidated. We then submitted documents to the liquidator to recover our funds as well. This is where we currently stand.
We feel it is Pam Golding's responsibility to repay the deposit to us. We feel that we were misleading by the contract. No success from Pam Golding.
