We were told you cant keep us on

A few weeks ago this company hired 11 staff members we started training on a monday, most of us turned down other job offers. some left other jobs. we were all excited. come 3pm on that very day we started we were told that they company was in a situation and they couldnt keep us on. they would pay us for the week and they promised to rehire us or give us first option of employment should the situation get better.

well it clearly got better! today one of my fellow works that started the same day as I called me very sad and broken. He had been on gumtree and saw the advert for staff in the positions we had. while most of us managed to get new jobs. some havent been as blessed. clearly your word isnt your bond. R1595 doesnt pay for the fact that our rent was late, we bought monthly travel cards etc.
