One the 27th of December 2013 I responded to an advert on Gumtree from a certain Kimsley who claimed to be a property agent working for a company, KNT Properties, phone number: 073 659 8598, based in Johannesburg. After I told him that I wanted a place to stay in Auckland Park, he told me that he had one cottage left and I would need to secure it by paying an administration fee, whereupon he would immediately take me to it for viewing.

I payed this fee at the Melville ABSA branch, scanned the proof of payment, and emailed it to him [Email Removed] When I called him to ask if he had received it, he did not answer my call. Worried about this sudden change in behavior, I used a different number to which he replied and claimed he was still busy with another client. He never got back to me and I had to call him once again only to find that his phone was switched off.

Then and there I decided to involve the police who unfortunately told me that they could only serve him with a letter of demand to his physical address, which I don't know. All this time, he never once called me or replied to my email to explain his actions.
