Not refunding a deposit of R20 000

At the end of September I saw advertising for a Brand new complex for sale in THE BOUNDARY in LONEHILL. As I am currently selling my current property, I am seeking an investment for a short term period. After paying a deposit of R20 000 and then cancelling the transaction within 1 week due to the finishes of the property in comparison to their competitors, price and current transfer of property which is not finalized. Renprop is now claiming the full deposit and refusing to refund the amount.
As a customer we have a choice and deciding to not purchase their property after a week doesn't necessitate a non refundable deposit of R 20 000. After numerous discussions with them via the attorneys, they are wanting me to forfeit 50% of the deposit. I was willing to settle on a 10% admin fee for starting the process, however they are adamant that R10 000 is the cancellation fee. What quantifies a R10 000 fee for 1 week?
I will never recommend their services as all they wanting to do is make a quick money for nothing.
Also just shows that will all the complaints on this site they don't even bother to respond - RENPROP what a dissappointment
