I received a letter from SARS on the 07/03/13 stating that must pay a penalty fee for non submission 2010 and 2011 for an amount of R500 before the 1st April13. I have been in contact with my previous employers trying to recover my IRP5 forms in order to submit ASAP. This has all been completed succesfully yesterday. Today i have contacted your 0800 number and spoke to a consultant on option 0 whom was absolutely rude. I tried to get assistance about payment for my penalty fees and was told that i need to pay an amount of R1000. Her reasons was that penaltys are charged every month and an additional R500 was charged for March. Explained to the lady that the letter was dated 22nd Feb so how was it possible for me to submit returns in Feb when the letter only reached me in March. also explained that the letter clearley indicates a fee of R500 to be paid by 1st April. This woman was rude and was of no assistance. She also hung up on me. Please resolve billing issue ASAP aswell some of the consultants pathetic attitude or perhaps they require further training on customer ettiquette. I await your urgent response!
