2 Year wait on pension fund feedback/payout!

In October 2012 I drove to PTA Government Offices to hand in my documents personally for my claim on a pension fund. I approached a lady by the name Yvonne and handed them over. I asked her if it's safe handing in these papers and she assured me that documents are scanned in and kept safe. Since then I've been doing follow ups telephonically (seeing that no one kept me updated) every 3 months or so. After such long waits I've even handed them over to the ombudsman, but no luck. Last week I phoned to speak to the head lady as I've had finally had enough, to which she agreed and apologized. Apparently my paperwork has been sitting with the lawyers since Feb 2013.
My point now is, why wait so long? Get things done and get it over with.
