Potholes causing flat and damaged tyres

To whom it may concern:
On New year's eve, towards the evening, I was driving along Republic Road on my way to Cresta shopping Centre when I hit a huge pothole that damaged my front tyre as well as vent came off that still needs to be replaced. My friends were only able to assist me to the nearest Engen garage at the corner there in the early hours of New Years morning. When I arrived there, I found that more than 10 other cars had met the same fate and had two or more tyres damaged and were waiting for family members to come with new tyres to assist them (which I later heard took several hours). People were stuck at the garage and forced to miss their new year celebrations as well as it cost a lot of money to replace (R650) per tyre. I still have the invoice and photos to prove it. I also have contact details of another motorist that was also a victim.
I implore the municipality to look into the matter and attend to it immediately as well as compensate us for the damage caused to our cars.
