Shocking attitude of municipal employees

On 7 January I visited the Roodepoort municipal offices to arrange payment of a deposit for municipal fees following my recent purchase of a house in Constantia Kloof. I arrived at 15H25, knowing that they close at 15H30. The doorman refused to let me inside and told me that they are closed for the day. I showed him that it is not yet 15H30 and he told me that my time must be wrong. I called 1026 and placed the phone next to his ear. The time read out was by then 15H28. He still refused and told me to come back tomorrow. He was not interested in listening that I had to travel all the way from Jhb CBD and also had to arrange time off work to get there. All I want to do is to pay and comply with regulations, and it is disgusting and very poor attitude from municipal employees to treat tax payers with such disrespect, and in so doing creating uncalled for inconvenience and loss of productive time. This individual municipal employee should be thankful to have Job in times like these and if he worked for a caring company who respects their customers and consumers he should be booted out.
