Bad service from home affairs

I am extremely upset and disappointed at the service I receive from home affairs, my son was incorrectly register as a female, in April 2013.
I went through the process of correcting it and followed step by step as advise by home affairs.
I stood a full day in the Johannesburg office trying to sort it out, lost a day's salary, 20 June 2013
At that stage I was told 4 months then check.
Today I a get call and was advise I must resubmit as the documents has expired, what bad service.
How does this work, I have no documentation because I handed it in, I only have a receipt .( receipt number: AQ162241)

My son is register as a female and when I went through the process to have it change the system failed me.
I am disappointed that nobody takes ownership or responsibility the call centre tells me I have to go back and have it done again.

Do we really have incompetent people working in our state departments.
I need assistance urgently in sorting out this matter, I cannot be paying for other people's mistakes, it's not fair.
