ID Number Duplicated

I was under the impression that home affairs have improved their services but it seems not. My mother applied for her passport back in May & was told that her ID number had been duplicated therefore the passport would not be issued until this matter is resolved. Home affairs then informed us they would investigate the matter, I'm not sure investigating what exactly instead of sorting out this matter. To top it all their system doesn't reflect on who else the number is being shared with... just duplication but a blank on the other person. It is now August & I have been in contact with the manager who doesn't return any of my calls on how far they are with the so called "investigation". I doubt anything has been done on this all we are told is Pretoria is handling it..BUT until WHEN..We need her passport... Utterly disappointed!
