Politics & Government

On 4th July 2013 I called the call centre to follow up on my mom's ID application and was informed that it was 'suspended' due to needing documentation proving her marital status. I asked what I should do and was informed that I need to hand in marriage / death certificate so that her marital status can be uploaded onto her ID. I did so!
A wonderful woman, Nthabiseng, at head office put the application in so I went to where I thought the Head office had moved to (Schubert and skinner) and was pushed around there TWICE. Nowhere to hand in this doc. Husband went to H/O today and wasn't allowed in as they don't deal with the public. Called the call centre back, desperate now as I don't know where to hand this in!!!
Only to be told that it's in H/O's hands now on what to do next and that takes up to 3-4 weeks! More than irritated that I took 3 trips to Pretoria (about 40km each time - ONE way). So 240km wasted doing something that wasn't necessary. Ref of call: 1307010710. I am tired of being messed around, this is the third time we have tried to apply for her ID and just not getting anywhere, exhausted and just need people to do their jobs and communicate.
