Sunday Times
Cancellation of subscription

Newspapers & Magazines

I decided to cancel my subscription to the Sunday Times after having complained several times over the last six months that the Sunday Times was being delivered late on a Sunday.
The paper gets delivered at 11H30, and on one occasion it was only delivered on the Monday morning.
As a subscriber, I was entitled to receive the weekday Times as well. It was a good week if I received three newspapers.
Even after complaining on several occasions, they always said that the matter would be sorted out but it never was.
In December I received one Sunday Times and three weekday Times, which is when I decided to cancel the subscription.
I phoned the offices in JHB, as well as sending two e-mails to cancel the subsription on the 23rd December.
A week later, they deducted the monthly amount via debit order for January 2014.
I again phoned to cancel the subscription and to demand my money back, which they said they would do.
The end of January came, and again the monthly subscription was deducted from my account.
I again phoned to find out how they could do so, and the subscription department said that they had not been notified of the cancellation, but they would now cancel it.
